Some have wrongly tried to build their lives on a faith in their faith instead of faith in who Jesus is. Our faith is not to be in our faith, but in the person of Jesus Christ—who He is and what He has already accomplished for us. Walking in the light is to walk with The Light, Jesus. " It is clear in this verse that if we are His sheep we will know His voice. We follow Him because we know His voice. It could be said that we follow Him to the degree that we know His voice. Repentance often means a radical change of direction, but let us be careful not to over-correct. We must endeavor to live by Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. " If we have made the commitment to take a job, we will therefore seek in every way to do the best possible job because of our love for the Lord whom we are ultimately working for, and because of the love that He has given to us for the people we work for and with as well. If we love others we will also be understanding of why they may not react to us with consistency.
