He gives you a choice, but He does inform you of the consequences if you don't choose to worship Him. It is for our benefit that He tells us to worship Him. Worship is the channel of blessing. God tells us to worship Him because that is the manner in which He can bless us. You see, man was made to worship God, and if he doesn't, he will worship something, and anything else will be harmful to him. God doesn't need our worship. If we think that He does, who here really has the ego problem? Do we really think God needs our worship, as if we are so important?

It is a law, and it works whether you realize it or not.
